London, 10 March 2009: In response to the changing demands on small and medium-sized businesses’ IT and communications networks, Vialtus Solutions has launched the first in a new family of fully flexible, fully managed hosting products. The service offers the latest technical specifications (including Windows Server 2008) on an HP platform.
Under increasing pressure to reduce spiralling costs, increase flexibility, improve the productivity of workers and drive sales through a corporate e-commerce website, many businesses are finding that existing hosting services restrict them from making the changes they need, when they need them.
Maria Cappella, CEO of Vialtus Solutions explains, “We’ve listened to customers and the market and have put together a new Enterprise Hosting suite that caters for businesses’ changing demands. The credit crunch means that businesses are looking closely at every aspect of their operations (their website and network included) and want ways to make them work harder. While cost remains critical, businesses are now looking for a hosting provider that understands their business needs thoroughly and can add value to it. Superlative service should be a given in any professional hosting environment, but this alone will not set you apart from the crowd anymore. Providing a future proof platform for the latest Database and Application releases at competitive prices will help to maximise revenue generation.
“Unlike many of the UK’s business hosting companies, Vialtus Solutions has developed an offering that allows customers to add or remove elements, accommodating budget constraints or their internal IT capabilities, as their business demands. This offers all the benefits of technology when needed and makes costs completely controllable. Our new Enterprise Hosting service is the first of a number of products being launched throughout 2009 that, we believe, will fundamentally change the way businesses use cloud - or utility -based computing models.”
In the development of its new Enterprise Hosting service Vialtus Solutions has worked closely with technology partner Hewlett Packard (HP). It is one of the first to use HP’s new DL160 server as its entry level hardware platform – enabling Vialtus Solutions to offer superior computing power compared to its competitors at a competitive cost point. The DL160 also has advanced power management functions that significantly reduce energy consumption.
Cappella explains, “Reducing the energy bills for our data centres means that we can pass these cost savings on to our customers. We were the last to pass on price increases as energy costs spiralled in 2008, and are constantly looking for opportunities to reduce our carbon footprint, power and cooling costs.”
Vialtus Solutions uses secure data centres in London and Manchester that are both ISO 27001 accredited (the Information Security standard), offer no single point of failure and are manned 24/7x365 by dedicated technical support teams. Data is kept safe by a Cisco supported firewall to protect from malicious code and by Operational Recovery back-up to ensure data is secure even in the event of failure.
“Our customers know they can rest easy in the knowledge that their data is secure with Vialtus Solutions,” concludes CEO Maria Cappella.
