A study of 1,236 Brits commissioned by the UK’s fastest growing independent online travel agent can reveal that the South West is Britain’s randiest region

41% of British men think it’s ‘more acceptable’ to cheat when in a different postcode region but the South West is Britain’s randiest region, with 74% of men admitting they would consider cheating on their partner whilst on holiday.

A study of 1,236 Brits commissioned by the UK’s fastest growing independent online travel agent can reveal that the South West is Britain’s randiest region, with almost 75% of men admitting they would consider cheating on their partner whilst on holiday.

The research from www.sunshine.co.uk reveals the regions with the highest percentage of men that admit they would cheat on their partner on holiday;

1) South West – 74%
2) Midlands – 62%
3) Scotland – 61%
4) Wales – 57%
5) South East – 42%

Ladies living in Northern Ireland can relax however; only 18% of men living in this region admitted that they would cheat on their partner whilst on holiday.

When asked ‘why would you cheat on your partner on holiday’, 41% of men thought it was ‘more acceptable’ to cheat whilst in a different postcode region, minimising their chances of being caught out, whereas only 12% of women felt it was more acceptable to cheat when they are away from home.

It’s not surprising then that 26% of women thought their partner was too paranoid to allow them to go on holiday without them. Naively 1 in 5 women admit they would be anxious if their partner went away with the lads but only 12% would consider asking them not to go.

sunshine.co.uk also discovered that sites like facebook and MySpace may be the cure for a straying lover, with over 1 in 3 Brits admitting that social networking sites would make them think twice about a holiday affair as they would be nervous saucy pictures of them with their holiday fling would crop up on their profiles.

Chris Brown, Managing Director of sunshine.co.uk comments;

“For most of us a holiday is a way to leave all our stresses behind us and it seems that for many Brits, especially from the South West, this involves forgetting about their other half stuck at home.

“Although some of us are just after a nice relaxing break, the majority of Brits are after booze and sex and so it’s no wonder we have a reputation abroad for our wild partying antics. I imagine after these results men will never be allowed away without their other half again!”
