NEW HOME SAFETY DVD FOR THE HEARING IMPAIRED
13th March 2009
A new DVD designed to help the hearing impaired feel safe from the dangers of fire and carbon monoxide in their homes is now available.
The 11 minute DVD has been produced by FireAngel in conjunction with some of the UK’s leading Fire and Rescue Services such as Cheshire and Greater Manchester.
Additionally, Cheshire Deafness Support Network was instrumental in ensuring the accuracy of information for the hearing impaired.
The DVD features both subtitles and British Sign Language (BSL) to show how FireAngel WI-Safe products will help protect tenants. It also highlights other potential dangers in the home identified during a Home Fire Safety Check carried out by the UK Fire and Rescue Services.
In order to protect vulnerable groups or homeowners with specific needs, the award-winning Wi-Safe range incorporates smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms which send wireless signals to any combination of a Warning Handset, Flashing Strobe, Vibrating Pad or Combined Flashing Strobe with Vibrating Pad. The range can be tailored to best suit individual needs therefore is ideal for people with hearing impairments, the disabled, the elderly, the infirm, children and heavy sleepers who may have reduced capacity to be alerted to danger within their home and escape in time.
Nick Hickman is available for interview and can also supply images, advice and a more detailed overview of the Hearing Impaired fire safety solution DVD.
