Kainos has already invested significant time in developing and implementing solutions for the public sector

- Kainos’s growing reputation and traction in the public sector is further strengthened with the appointment of senior pubic sector figure -

Belfast, March 16th, 2009 – Kainos, ( a leading IT consulting company, has today announced that well known and much respected senior public sector strategist, Chris Thompson, has joined its Public Sector Advisory Board.

Chris brings a wealth of experience around public sector issues and strategy to the Kainos advisory board. Having spent much of his senior career leading and managing major change programmes in the public sector, most recently Chris was responsible for Corporate Services within the Department of Finance and Personnel, involving expenditure of in excess of £180m and managing a staff of 3,000. Chris has also been at the helm of the Northern Ireland Civil Service Reform Programme, an initiative that is a key part of the Northern Ireland Executive’s programme for Government providing shared services to all NI Civil Service Departments.

Chris’s timely appointment, which follows the recent announcement of six UK local authorities having selected Kainos as their IT Services Partner, will serve to further assist Kainos in developing this key market.

Speaking of his new appointment, Chris Thompson said, “Kainos has already invested significant time in developing and implementing solutions for the public sector and the company is beginning to see some market traction as a result.
