IAPP Expands Service to UK

International Accounts Payable Professionals announces its first expansion beyond U.S. and Canada to United Kingdom.

Orlando, Fla. – International Accounts Payable Professionals (IAPP) announced today the launch of its first global expansion to the United Kingdom. Until now, the IAPP has operated only in the United States and Canada. The new U.K.-based AP association will feature many of the same services offered in the U.S., including a comprehensive online resource center with hundreds of professional AP tools, an online bookstore, AP Matters magazine, online networking communities, Standards for the profession and accounts payable professional guidance, a member hotline and much more.

The London-based association will also pilot the certified accounts payable professional (CAPP) certification program in September 2009. Soon after, the addition of local chapters and other member benefits geared to the U.K. audience will be included as part of the overall member value package. IAPP will have offices located in London and can be reached via its new Web site IAPP’s global CEO Thomas M. Bohn, CAE said regarding the expansion, “We have received many requests over the years by AP professionals to offer more U.K.-specific products. We thought the best approach was to create a new U.K. association rather than make this one fit their market. I look forward to working with our London-based staff in raising the awareness of accounts payable and the AP profession.”

The expansion is made possible, in part, by the strategic partnership and generous sponsorship of FISCAL Technologies and its subsidiary Accounts Payable News. FISCAL was founded in 2002, provides world class accounts payable audit software for corporations, and government agencies in the U.K. and U.S. to find duplicate payments and errors. Organizations trust these solutions to meet their needs for cost reduction, fraud detection and optimization of working capital.

FISCAL Technologies Director of Customer Development David Griffiths added, “We are proud to support IAPP’s international expansion and have known through our own customers the great need to have an AP association solely dedicated to the needs to the U.K.’s AP professionals.”
