Playtime at Asquith Day Nurseries

The Asquith Day Nursery in Caterham has become the fifth nursery in the group to receive an ‘Outstanding’ report from Ofsted. Outstanding is the highest rating Ofsted can award and is achieved by relatively few nurseries nationwide. Outstanding nurseries are shining examples of effective organisation and childcare best practice.

“An Ofsted inspection is a demanding and rigorous process,” said Managing Director, Andy Morris. “The outstanding status achieved by Caterham and our other nurseries represents a tremendous achievement that demonstrates the dedication and commitment of our staff to improving the quality of experiences they offer our children.

“At Asquith we deliver the best childcare and education possible by ensuring that all our staff have in-depth knowledge and understanding gained through continuing professional development and higher-level qualification training. We also have a continual programme of upgrading and redeveloping our nurseries to provide the best settings for children.”

The Ofsted inspection covers every aspect of childcare and assesses them pointing out areas with room for improvement. With an outstanding result, each of our nurseries provide absolutely everything required of them to the highest quality expected. Some of the comments from Ofsted included; ‘The nursery demonstrates exemplary practice and effective organisation; The staff team all value the uniqueness of each child; Relationships with parents are extremely strong and the nursery is a safe place where their children are able to flourish; Children’s achievements are celebrated and valued; and young babies have a wonderful time as they submerge their whole hands and feet in materials such a paint and cornflour with water!’

The other nurseries in the Asquith Group to achieve outstanding status are Teddington in West London, Port Solent, Maidstone and Springfield Road, Southborough in Tunbridge Wells. The group has also achieved “Outstanding” status for nursery education for its Raynes Park, London nursery and its Ridgeway, Swindon nursery.
