Wednesday night saw artrepublic unveil the winning print from their “Art of Hope” competition. The winner, Archi Ram, was among three finalists short-listed from well over 100 entries, and his work will now be sold at artrepublic’s Brighton and Soho galleries, as well as online with other poster art

The evening saw art enthusiasts and artists celebrate with the winner at the artrepublic Brighton gallery and the success of the competition, which captured the imagination of budding artists around the country.

The artist judges, Hutch and Graham Carter were present as guests, and were overwhelmed by the high standard of entries. The winning print will now be displayed alongside works by such stars of the UK art scene as Sir Peter Blake, Banksy, D*Face and Jamie Hewlett.

Ten ultra rare Artists Proofs of the winning print (named ‘Art of Hope’ by the artist Archi Ram) were produced for the night and guests eagerly snapped many of them up, leaving very few still available. The remaining prints are available at www.artrepublic.com or from the artrepublic gallery at 13 Bond Street, Brighton. Tel: 01273 724829.

“We were delighted with the high standard of entries to the Art of Hope competition, received from throughout the UK. The final choice made by two of our most popular artists is an outstanding piece of work.” says Andrew Milledge, Marketing Director at artrepublic.

artrepublic are reinforcing their commitment to the local art scene too. This year, they will be a key sponsor of Visual Arts within the 2009 Brighton Festival Fringe, which will again help support the plethora of fine talent in the area.

It’s going to be a busy 2009 for artrepublic, exhibiting talented new artists, such as new US import Mr Brainwash and fresh works from many of the world’s most collectable artists, whilst looking forward to the next competition at the end of the year!
