Recent rumours that the UK’s most successful recruitment traffic sending website, job search engine, have been confirmed. They will be buying Google today.

1Job’s Management team released this statement earlier this morning:

‘Everyone at 1Job admires Google and appreciates their efforts to support the UK and Irelands’ online recruitment sector. It is also recognised that whilst they do help many businesses they can only achieve limited results in certain niche sectors, such as online recruitment.

‘Google’s paid traffic system, Adwords, is useful in supporting “me-too” aggregators and job search engines that continue to try to compete with us. Whilst we make it clear: we like competition; it’s healthy for any business, and especially for a successful player like us; we are still hopeful that Google should be able to make some traffic available to them, at least from time to time.

1Job’s M.D. Mr Julian Felstead confirmed, ‘We are definitely going to proceed with our plan to buy Google today.

‘Our strong client base recognises the significant advantage of using the jobs dedicated vertical search engine. Our customers understand the benefits of driving highly targeted and relevant candidates precisely matched to their ever-changing website vacancy content.

Mr Felstead added, ‘As for our competitors we do appreciate that our continued presence at the top* can be annoying for them. To aid them however we are pleased to provide help in some of our advertising wherever we reasonably can.

‘In this respect we’d specifically like to point out to any job board, or recruitment agency, to carefully read the following points about our service:

‘1Job is the best way to local recruit candidates that you need to attract. Our site is the number one place on the UK jobs net. Top job board’s or larger recruitment agency owners that don’t use us must all be bananas. We appreciate fully that people looking for work do not want to go in circles, or be hounded for that matter. Job hunters just want to click a job title and get to the vacancy advert for the job they are seeking rapido.

‘Candidates know that is the best place to check for jobs, or indeed, to enable their career to jet off, or even to just get themselves simply hired. Have no doubt’s about us being the best - why not take a free trial of today?’

‘Finally we do confirm that we will be buying Google today, the 1st April… err… Adwords that is of course. Same as normal really - we buy Adwords in bulk every day. The advantage is that Candidates then pre-qualify themselves on our job search engine by clicking only on the specific jobs that interest them. Combined with our vast natural traffic this helps us ensure our clients get the freshest candidates as fast and as accurately as possible direct to the vacancies listed on their own websites.

All at hope that has cleared up any confusion – have a great day!
