Stargreen, a major independent London ticket agency, which specialises
in selling tickets for Rock and Pop concerts is the first company to
benefit from Rinaldo, Pentacom's revolutionary new E-commerce
technology. Stargreen needed more flexibility and faster and easier
access to their growing international clientele, plus the essential
ability to sell through affiliated sites and to gain much greater
control over their Internet marketing strategy. The ideal answer was a
ticket marketing system based on Pentacom's new E-commerce product.
Rinaldo can be integrated into any existing Web site with minimal
changes to Web pages. Rinaldo-equipped site operators can set up their
own information requirements and define precisely what is to be sold and
how.

The new http://www.stargreen.com site starts up with listings for more
than 200 rock and pop concerts, mostly in and around London, and
provides information and full shopping basket-based credit card booking
facilities. Rinaldo uses the emerging RDF standard enabling the site to
integrate with popular portal sites such as My.Netscape.com, to give
Stargreen customers a customisable view of ticket news and forthcoming
events on their default home page. There are also powerful and flexible
features for managing links to other Web sites.

According to Barry Anten, a director of Stargreen, "This new system will
store customer purchasing data and enable us to target email campaigns
to fans, as soon as future events are announced. We'll be able to
eliminate the time-consuming postal direct mail that's been used
previously. We'll also have the framework necessary to set up affiliate
programmes, supporting advertising and to include editorial content on
any site with which we have established a relationship. This will become
one of our most effective Internet marketing tools."

Future developments could include the ability to hold auctions of
tickets for charity, in varying formats, and to sell off unsold tickets
at "last minute" prices.

Rinaldo was launched earlier this year as an evolutionary product
derived from Pentacom's long-established custom-built E-commerce
applications. Uniquely, Rinaldo offers the user a range of
functionalities in the single product package: a shopping or catalogue-
based operation at fixed price and a variety of auction styles -
including a real time version. Users can vary the functionality,
choosing to hold a long-stock sell-off at the best prices they can get
at auction, changing back to their fixed price operation with ease.
Users can also extend the system to include their suppliers' or
distributors' customers, enabling their trading activities to encompass
remote customers without interfering with the existing structure of
trade and loyalty.
