LONDON, 8th April 2009 – Easynet Connect today introduced Local Access Leased Line, the latest addition to its portfolio of internet services that can cost up to 50% less than other fibre Ethernet products currently available in the UK. Local Access Leased Line offers small UK businesses a fixed priced connection with the same high quality typically limited to more expensive enterprise-scale fibre solutions.
Easynet Connect will make Local Access Leased Line available to over 70% of UK businesses through one of the largest local loop unbundling projects (LLU) undertaken in the UK. The innovative design of the network means that businesses of all sizes will receive the Local Access Leased Line services from any of Easynet Connect’s 1,200 exchanges in the UK. The first phase of the rollout will see up to 50 exchanges completed by the end of the year.
Chris Stening, Managing Director of Easynet Connect said of the announcement “Local Access Leased Line will definitely help bring next-generation broadband to more small businesses without breaking the bank. The increased bandwidth can open up new opportunities to thousands of businesses, especially many who couldn’t previously access high-speed internet. Local Access Leased Line means that companies can save money as well as having the ability to easily manage the multiple applications they need to successfully run their business.”
“According to our latest research, one in five small businesses see the internet as the most important tool to help them survive the recession and around half of companies are looking to launch new products and services over the web. Similarly, the increase in remote working, the use of cloud computing and video conferencing are putting greater demands on small businesses’ web connections, so it is important that small businesses, wherever they are based, can get access to the best value and quality connections.”
