Smart card solution replaces manual time sheets.

SCM Microsystems is looking to increase UK sales of its CHIPDRIVE Time Recording equipment with the appointment of Connect Software of Blackburn, a specialist consultancy providing integrated security solutions for the workplace.

The CHIPDRIVE Time Recording equipment offers an up-to-date approach to time sheets by replacing manual records with smart cards and electronic data collection. The system provides software tools for analysis, archive and the creation of management reports. Time and attendance information can be exported as Excel format, which is compatible with most payroll systems.

Hardware options include a low cost entry level package, using a compact wireless clock terminal, a network solution and ‘touch and go’ personal ID devices. The mobile application is ideal for the supervision of mobile workers, such as contract cleaners, covering multiple workplace locations.

As well as time and attendance, the equipment can also be used to book time against specific customer accounts, an important advantage for organisations that need to manage project hours.

Commenting on the agreement, Connect Software commercial director, Chris Reid said: “We have set up a number of trial installations including a small manufacturing unit where it is being used for recording working time and refreshment breaks.

Another area which is of particular interest is in the childcare sector. The SCM CHIPDRIVE software allows nursery managers to plan staff capacity, schedule pre arranged holidays and keep track of incidental lieu days and time off for sickness and further education etc.
