Award given by European Trade Association
NomaDesk, the easy to use, file sharing and document collaboration solutions provider, has been recognized by the European Trade Association for Business Angels and Early Stage Investors (EBAN) with the Award for Most Successful Angel-
Backed Company on the occasion of their 4th Annual Award Ceremony held in Madrid on April 27th 009.
The European-wide award recognises both NomaDesk’s outstanding achievements as a startup, including success in penetrating the European market and opening a U.S. office, and the demonstrated impact of angel involvement in terms of financing and mentorship provided to the company.
Founded in 2004 by Filip Tack, Miguel De Buf and Peter Geldhof, NomaDesk offers a professional-grade collaboration solution designed for digital nomads who either work independently or in small or medium-sized enterprises. A software as a service (SaaS), thin client/server solution, NomaDesk enables both online and offline document management. It allows users to automatically share, encrypt, and back up all critical data to be more productive, maximise team collaboration, increase data security, as well as reduce bandwidth costs.
NomaDesk received a seed round of €350 000 in 2005 from business angels, and recently raised a €3M round of funding from Gimv, one of Europe’s most well-known private equity and venture capital providers.
“We are truly honoured to have received this award and the recognition for our enterprise class solution for masses of digital nomads, remote workers and SMEs,” comments Filip Tack, CEO and cofounder of NomaDesk. “This award is a massive ‘thank-you’ to all our backers, our team and of course, our users and customers.”
