Women trying online dating in the UK are increasingly turning to adult dating (or casual dating) sites in preference to the more traditional online dating sites to find the honest men, according to leading adult dating site

A recent study involving a sample of female members from contradicts conventional wisdom by revealing that women are increasingly turning to adult and casual dating sites, because the men they find on there are more honest, more in touch with themselves, and clearer about what they are looking for in a relationship.

The study surprised Tim Taylor, CEO of Canoodle Limited, which owns and operates “Traditionally, most people will tell you that there are more men than women on adult dating sites. But we have seen an increasing number of women join over the past year, and this seems like one of the reasons why. And that’s great news for the guys too. As more women join, there’s a more evenly matched membership and as a result, we’re seeing email, chat activity and first dates increase day-by- day.”

The research revealed that:

• Women find men on these sites refreshingly honest, compared to men on the more traditional dating sites. When joining a traditional dating site, women say they can come across men with various motives for being on there. However, when they join an adult dating site, they know exactly what the men are looking for – no strings casual fun.

• When it comes to meeting up, the men they eventually do decide to meet are up front and honest about what they are looking for. As a result, they are less inclined to play games in order to string women along or entice them into the bedroom.

• Because these men are clear about what they want from a relationship, they are generally more grounded, confident, and more at ease with themselves and with women. Women members also found that as a result, the men they met were less inclined to “exaggerate” in their profiles, leading to fewer shocks on meeting up and more successful first dates.

• They receive a great deal of interest and emails from Day One, which they say they can find a bit of a drag. However, they did find emails and profiles as the most effective way to search for that ‘diamond in the rough’. Interestingly, they also find that men seemed more laid back if they’re passed over.

• Overall, the women we spoke to find the whole experience on more relaxed and enjoyable, because both parties are clear that they’re only looking for a casual relationship – not someone to share the rest of their life with. They therefore meet up with much more realistic expectations of each other, and with less of a need to feel guarded, they find they generally have more fun along the way.

• When women do find someone on the site they hit it off with, they say it’s a definite bonus because it wasn’t something they had really been expecting or looking for when they first joined.
