IT Enquirer releases three RFI templates and a product matrix comparing 12 systems on 51 parameters

Antwerp, Belgium - May 21, 2009 - The IT Enquirer, a leading information resource for cross-channel publishers, announces the availability of three RFI (Request for Information) templates and an analysis that compares 51 functionality parameters of 12 publishing systems. The four documents are part of a unique and complete offering that is meant to help publishers find the best publishing technology available.

There are currently three RFI templates offered; a general purpose RFI template, a book publishing and magazine publishing RFI, each containing over 600 evaluation criteria. An RFI provides a structured methodology for reducing a long list of software suppliers down to a more manageable number that is suitable for remote or online demonstrations. It can also be used as an instrument to evaluate an existing system.

Developed in conjunction with leading software vendors, IT Enquirer's RFIs are comprehensive, thorough and up-to-date lists of criteria publishing systems should support to be effective and contributory to a publication’s success.

They can be used for system definition and process mapping, GAP analysis, preparation of product demonstrations, and system and vendor evaluation. The General Purpose RFI lists criteria that are common to all modern publishing systems, while the Book and Magazine RFIs are more focused on what these types of publishers need.

Evaluating 12 systems with 51 parameters

The Cross-channel Publishing Functionality Matrix and Diagram analysis compares 12 publishing systems in a grid holding 51 parameters that are among the most important for today’s publishing needs. The Report also has an easy to understand Completeness of Vision Diagram and an Observations Appendix.

“The RFIs and the Grid are aimed at cross-channel magazine, book, corporate and technical publishers,” Erik Vlietinck, the publisher of IT Enquirer said. “They are part of our strategy aimed at helping publishing companies and departments to quickly evaluate existing or potentially interesting products and technologies.”

Each RFI can be purchased online for the price of 450.00 EUR. The Functionality Matrix and Diagram costs 165.00 EUR. Editors can get a review copy of the Functionality Matrix and Diagram by sending an e-mail request to the publisher.
