A long weekend of arts and music is due to take place in Paris next month as the French capital celebrates Solidays.
The event is organised by Solidarite SIDA, one of France's major HIV charities and Solidays is an annual festival that regularly attracts more than 100,000 visitors. Held at the Hippodrome de Longchamp, which is within easy reach of the wide variety of different Paris Hotels, the 2009 edition of the event has a huge range of different acts on the bill, from established bands to up-and-coming artists, there is sure to be something to suit event taste.
Among the groups set to take to the stage are the Ting Tings, Caravan Palace, Manu Chao, Les Wampas, Keziah Jones, the Virgins, Buraka Som Sistema, Digitalism, Stuck in the Sound, Groundation, Tony Allen, South Central, Moonraisers and Paris Jeunes Talents.
Stalls, circus performers, a fairground and mime artists will also be present on site, as will a number of debates, lectures and working groups on all aspects of HIV.
Solidays 2009 will take place between June 26th and 28th.
Tickets are available now and cost €30 (£26.23) for one day, €40 for two days and €45 for all three.
Visitors that want to be ideally located in the heart of Paris will be delighted to know, for £105 per night a standard double/twin including breakfast can be booked at Hotel Lautrec Opera.
