Gloucester-based Ecclesiastical Insurance has been short listed in the 2009 British Insurance Awards, the industry’s most prestigious awards ceremony. Ecclesiastical has reached the final stages of the awards for four consecutive years and won an award for the past two years.
Ecclesiastical has been recognised in the ‘training’ category for the Survey Academy it has established to train specialist insurance surveyors. These surveyors visit care homes, heritage properties, charities, schools and churches to assess their insurance value and help customers to reduce the likelihood of accidents and fires for example.
Technical Survey Manager Bob Johnson said: “Our training programme is really quite unique, so we’re delighted the insurance industry has recognised it. Skilled surveyors are an absolutely essential part of the insurance industry. We’re now all crossing our fingers and hoping that we win!”
The award winners will be announced at a ceremony held at the Royal Albert Hall on 8 July.
