‘Live OnLine’ Offers Convenient Instructor-Led Overview of CBK® Domains Identical to Real-World Classroom

London, UK, June 2, 2009 – (ISC)2® (“ISC-squared”), the not-for-profit global leader in educating and certifying information security professionals throughout their careers, has introduced the Live OnLine Official (ISC)2 CISSP CBK Review Seminar, its first online CISSP learning course to offer students the benefit of live instruction.

Taught by (ISC)2-authorised instructors with years of experience in the security field, Live OnLine offers a high-level review of the 10 CISSP CBK domains and identifies areas in which students need to study. Delivered in two separate two-hour sessions per week over the course of 10 weeks, the Review Seminar includes up-to-date material, examples, illustrations and experiences from CISSPs, a real-world-based overview of the relevant areas of the information security field, and a post-seminar self assessment. During the live sessions, students can pose questions or comments to the instructor and receive immediate feedback or clarification.

In addition to the convenience of receiving official (ISC)2 CISSP education from a personal computer, Live OnLine materials are archived and can be accessed at any time. When listening to an archived copy of the course, students can e-mail their questions to the instructor.

“Live OnLine provides the same quality instruction as our award-winning, in-person seminars but it is accessible anywhere and virtually any time, allowing busy professionals to take the classes at their convenience with no travel expenses required, especially important for many companies in these difficult economic times,” said W. Hord Tipton, CISSP-ISSEP, CAP, CISA, executive director of (ISC)2. “While we have offered self-paced e-Learning courses for several years, for the first time now, Live OnLine offers the same convenience of those courses while adding invaluable interaction with a knowledgeable instructor.”

Live OnLine classes are offered in English and will soon be available in multiple time zones to aid in flexible scheduling.
The following domains are covered in the Live OnLine Review Seminar:

• Access Control
• Application Security
• Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning
• Cryptography
• Information Security Governance and Risk Management
• Legal, Regulations, Compliance, and Investigation
• Operations Security
• Physical (Environmental) Security
• Security Architecture and Design
• Telecommunications and Network Security

Live OnLine participants will need a computer with at least Windows NT or later operating system, with speakers or a headset, and the ability to download a WebEx client. A copy of the Official (ISC)² Guide to the CISSP CBK study guide and a hardcopy of the course materials will be provided to each student.

For pricing and additional information on the Live OnLine CISSP Review Seminar, visit Additional Live OnLine Review Seminars will be launched later this year for the CISSP concentrations in architecture and engineering.

The Official (ISC)2 CISSP CBK Review Seminar is one of the most comprehensive, complete review of information systems security concepts and industry best practices available and the only review course endorsed by (ISC)2. The course material is updated continuously to reflect the latest information system security issues, concerns and countermeasures.
