June 2, 2009 - Young entrepreneur, Sotonye Diri (Age 23) is to launch her book
‘No More Excuses’ at Parliament’s Portcullis House on 2nd June 2009.

The book contains 16 real life stories of successful black British role models to inspire young minds to achieve their goals and to better their lives. Those telling it like it is, include Dawn Butler MP, the first African-Caribbean female MP in history to serve in the British Government, Levi Roots, entrepreneur and music artist, famous for his appearance on television’s Dragon’s Den and Daniel Taylor, owner and managing director of one of the UK’s most successful commercial interior design companies.

Daniel Taylor, said: “Sotonye Diri is a remarkable woman and has worked hard to bring this book together. Young people will be motivated by her, and will see how people achieved their goals no matter what challenges they faced. Personally, I have learnt that if you are focused, work hard, have the right skills and always do the best you can, that you can tackle any prejudices and do well in life.”

The book is available at a cost of £7.00 and as well as featuring the role models, Sotonye talks about her own challenges. She says: “I never allowed anyone to make me believe that I was limited in life because of my skin tone or family background. Positive role models set a good example for us to follow. In the book, they talk about their achievements and the mistakes they have made along the way and I am hoping that young people will be able to learn from them.”
