There's an old joke where a traveller asks for directions to somewhere. The willing passer-by starts by saying 'If I was you, I wouldn't start from here'. The same thing could be said by users of GRC software applications over the last decade: it has been a road of long development lead-times, difficult to customize software and point-solutions operating in silos.

A new GRC solution has crossed the chasm in product development and produced a next-generation solution for governance, risk and compliance in the cloud.

Enterprise cloud computing company Xactium, a strategic partner of Gartner SaaS Quadrant leader, has launched its next-gen software-as-a-service solution for GRC. The solution, which offers strong content, process management, risk analytics with full visualisation capabilities and control automation will be the centre piece of a webinar on 'risk mitigation and compliance management' on 14 July 2009, 3-4pm BST.

Andy Evans, managing director, Xactium said: "GRC is an integral part of business and not a siloed application. Because of traditional development timescales of IT software, vendors have had time to develop competent but siloed solutions which can be difficult to customize, expensive to install and roll-out and often impossible to integrate. With the advent of enterprise cloud computing on the platform GRC can be fully integrated into the organisation in days and weeks not months or even years.

"Fast solution and development times has meant that our solution is a truly next generation approach incorporating full visualization, simple integration, easy customization and useful collaboration tools. Xactium offers organisations a flexible, on-demand GRC solution with short payback periods and low cost of ownership."

The upcoming webinar includes contributions from enterprise risk specialist Richard Higgs and Montgomery Hoeft, director, business development EMEA at
