* Joint strategy to overcome "biggest frustration" of business software users - cost and speed of change
* Improved product positioning offers customers clear choice
* Product collaboration and integration aimed at reducing costs and speeding up delivery
Unit 4 Agresso, the global business software developer and parent company of the Agresso and CODA brands has announced it has realigned its products to improve customer choice and help businesses overcome slow and frustrating change projects.
Both the Agresso and CODA brands will be retained but they are re-positioned to create a broader product portfolio built on Agresso's innovative VITA architecture and CODA's "no-compromise" interoperability architecture LINK.
This combined approach is fundamentally different to competitors in that the group does not segment its target market by vertical but by characteristic. The focus is therefore on any organisation that faces frenetic levels of ongoing business change, such as reorganisations, take-overs and mergers, compliance, legislative and regulatory issues, or meeting new stakeholder expectations.
According to Ton Dobbe Vice President for Product Marketing at Unit 4 Agresso, this realignment of the product families will help the Group tackle "the industry's biggest frustration - cost and speed of change."
It will do this in two ways:
* Firstly, for dynamic organisations preferring to standardise on a homogeneous business software environment and consequently opting for an integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) suite, the biggest frustration reveals itself in the inability to accommodate business change after implementation. This is because traditional ERP requires ongoing costly and time consuming recoding in order to support such change.
Ton Dobbe said: "This is where our Agresso solutions differentiate. Unlike traditional ERP, Agresso Business World is built on a 'living architecture' (VITA), which is the only architecture on the market which smartly couples data, business processes and reporting and analytics to move in lockstep. This means that when a change is made in one area, it is automatically replicated elsewhere and does not need to be redone and rechecked for accuracy in another - clearly saving time, money and the pain associated with any change and without the need to rely on expensive external consultants."
* Secondly, for dynamic organisations that need a heterogeneous business software infrastructure and consequently opting for a range of specific line-of-business software, the biggest frustration reveals itself in significant and on-going integration challenges.
Ton Dobbe said: "As a direct result of having a variety of software solutions in place, businesses frequently suffer from significant cost and time pressures from the numerous and ongoing integration requirements necessary to keep all these applications, as well as any new ones, working together efficiently. This is where our CODA solutions differentiate themselves. In selecting CODA, businesses can keep their best-of-breed approach to software as well as benefit from access to the rich functionality our financial software delivers. This is because CODA's LINK architecture allows businesses to add, change or integrate business applications rapidly and cost-effectively, with significantly less need for expensive external consultancy work.
"With CODA we are able to offer finance executives a 'no compromise' approach to application change management. This is true for both traditional 'on premise' software and, with the launch of our software as a service financial application CODA 2go, in the cloud."
