Let battle commence as the Theme Traders Lost Boys take on the might of the grizzly pirates from the security of their tree house camp, while bison graze unaware at the nearby Indian encampment and Triton, king of the Mer people looks on …

All the fun and excitement of Never Neverland will be transported to Kensington Gardens by the party planners, production and prop hire company Theme Traders, who for the fourth year have taken up this creative, challenge on behalf of Great Ormond Street Hospital for their annual Peter Pan Picnic.

The company has been responsible for the sixth themed areas, props and signage as well as for costuming, rehearsing and creating character entertainments roles for performers to give visiting kids and their parents a day to remember on Saturday 11th July.

Producing this little piece of fairyland, straight from J.M. Barrie’s book, has been a major production for Theme Traders, who have worked tirelessly behind scenes. Their huge workshop and sewing room in North London have been a hive of activity for weeks, creating sensational props, giant statues, circus animals and secret lost boy camps!

On the day itself it will be all hands on deck as the ThemeTraders team set to work at 5am to create a wonderful themed event from Kensington gardens into Never Neverland. A fabulous opportunity to see an event transformation from the very beginning. Visits can also be arranged to Theme Traders to view work in progress.

To draw the crowds The Fairies Winter Palace includes a white flower house strung with bells and ribbons and tiny fairies in bubbles hanging from the trees all swamped in colourful butterflies.

A totem pole is central to The Tiger Lily’s Settlement where a bison will be grazing, and the children are able to tip toe in and out of the wigwams… coming face to face with fearsome Red Indians.

Then to the Lost Boys’ Camp with camouflaged tree houses which lead visitors to battle plans and tips on learning to fly and finding home, before treading precipitously over the stepping stones to the gruesome pirates camp, complete with skulls ad bones, ships sails blowing in the breeze and parrots in the trees.

The King of the Merpeople in Mermaid’s Lagoon is surrounded by the illusion of waves, in which underwater creatures, iridescent fish, nets and shells reside.

A truly magical party day out… with theming created for children and their parents by Theme Traders event organisers on behalf of Great Ormond Street.
