Circle selects Datix software for patient safety across treatment centres nationwide

Circle, an innovative partnership of healthcare professionals improves risk management and patient safety across the organisation using Datix software

Datix Ltd, the UK market leader in software for patient safety and risk management, announced today that Circle, Europe's largest partnership of healthcare professionals, has selected Datix patient safety software to manage risk consistently across the organisation. The Incidents, Complaints, Claims and Risk Register modules have been implemented across key sites in the organisation.

Members of staff at Circle’s NHS treatment centres, run under the Nations Healthcare brand, are using web-based incident forms to capture data, with the forms being tailored to each member of staff’s own experience and level of seniority. Data is fed straight into Datix, with built-in workflow directing the forms to the appropriate manager for escalation. Governance Managers use the incident/events data to manage risk and improve patient safety across their departments.

The electronic audit trail helps the organisation to meet the strict legislation set out to manage and meet key government performance criteria. The three facilities – the Nottingham, Burton and Bradford NHS Treatment Centres are commissioned by the Primary Care Trusts in their areas, and must adhere to Department of Health legislation.

Plans for the future include rolling out the Freedom of Information, Standards and Better Health and Safety Alerts modules. The flagship Circle Hospital soon to open in Bath will also adopt Datix.
