Rent A Date for Charity logo

Since her diagnosis back in 2006, Lisa Connell has, until recently been running and growing her fundraising organisation; Rent A Date for Charity single handed.

Rent a Date for Charity is the ‘Original Auction Dating Website’ allowing everyday
people and celebrities to put themselves up for auction to the highest bidder with proceeds going to charity. You could even win a Meet & Greet with a Celebrity!

To date, celebrities such as Cheryl Baker, Sophie Anderton, Jimmi Harkishin who plays ‘Dev’ in Coronation Street, Rowan Bailey from Shipwrecked, Big Brother's Orlaith McAllister and Nicola Mclean recently seen on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and
many more have given their support towards the cause.

Since the launch of Rent A Date for Charity, both Lisa and her mother have had to
personally finance the business to secure trademarks and for constant website development. However, it is imperative that the website is now re-developed enabling Lisa to take the campaign to the next level. However Lisa is now in a situation where if she is unable to secure any funding through either sponsorship or advertising and soon then she will have to close down Rent A Date For charity and give up on her dream to raise £1m for brain tumour charities.

Lisa Connell says:

“I have worked solely up until recent months on this project and have even taken on the website development myself. Of which I have been self taught. Without the much needed funding RDC will not be able to continue to become the hub of brain tumour awareness bringing fundraisers, charities and journalists to a key source worldwide for much needed support and fundraising.”

“At present I personally now have an agent who is working on raising my own profile more so that in turn this will generate more interest on my site. I also have a Marketing Consultant assisting me on the campaign who has to date worked completely voluntarily,
but of course I need to start paying them too, so I can keep them involved and give continuity to the business.”

Only last week (Friday 3rd July) following the release of the latest research information, SKY News sent out a leading feature worldwide on how brain tumours are now the most common cause of cancer in the UK and more and more people are being diagnosed although only 1% of funding is given by the government.

Lisa really needs to find financial support now more than ever before to be able to get this point across to the general public. We really need to raise the Rent A Date For Charity website’s visibility so that we can continue to do our work and move forward with projects and fundraising activities we have planned. Lisa Connell concluded: “we really understand and appreciate that businesses have and are still going through a very tough economic time but if they are able to support Rent A Date For charity now then the long term benefits to their brand awareness would make it an investment well
worth making.”
