Serco ExperienceLab (formerly Serco Usability Services), the UK’s most established experience design research agency, and national employment charity, Shaw Trust, UK market leaders in Web Accessibility, today announce a new strategic partnership. The partnership represents a joining of like-minded specialists, who believe user testing helps clients optimise customer experiences.
Just as Serco ExperienceLab help clients understand, define and manage their customer experiences by involving users at all stages of development, Shaw Trust puts emphasis on testing with real users. Their testing teams are made up of experienced assistive technology users including people with no or low vision, colour blindness, dyslexia, deafness, impaired mobility or learning difficulties.
Owen Daly-Jones, Director of Serco ExperienceLab, says:
“We aim to offer our clients the best of both worlds through this partnership. Traditionally user experience agencies have offered accessibility testing from an ‘expert’ perspective, but in our many years in the industry we have not encountered a proposition as compelling as that offered by Shaw Trust. Working with their testing teams, who use adaptive and assistive technologies daily, offers real insights no ‘expert’ could predict.”
The combination of Serco ExperienceLab’s expertise in experience design research and Shaw Trust’s comprehensive Web Accreditation Service provides clients with an unprecedented depth of understanding of the issues facing website users.
Cam Nicholl, from the web accessibility team at Shaw Trust, comments:
“At Shaw Trust we are passionate about improving online and offline experiences for all users and partnering with Serco ExperienceLab is a natural fit for us. This partnership will offer clients real insight into web accessibility, and allow us to respond to the increasing demand from customers for a “full service”.
