The US Tennis Open is fast approaching and all the best players in the world are heading to New York in a bid for glory at the final Tennis Grand Slam of the year. The US Open is played on hard courts at Flushing Meadows in the Big Apple and it looks set to be one of the most exciting betting tournaments for many years with several top contenders featuring in both the Men’s and Ladies Championships.
The US Open Men’s Betting is looking competitive with several of the top players all hitting form at just the right time with the World No.1 Roger Federer the warm favourite to take yet another Grand Slam. Federer is once again the top player following wins at the French Open and Wimbledon and he looks to be bang in form heading to New York. Federer has finished his preparation for the US Open with a win at the Cincinnati Masters which included wins over Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic in straight sets. The Fed Express is the defending US Open Champion and few would bet against him winning once again although there are several young players hoping to topple him. Federer beat Andy Murray in the 2008 Final and the Andy Murray US Open Men’s Betting is telling us that it is the Scot who will be Roger’s closest challenger once again. Murray has risen to No.2 in the World Rankings and he loves playing on hard courts as he showed by winning the Montreal Masters recently and he is itching to get his first Grand Slam on the board. Rafael Nadal is making his way back from injury and looks to be rusty but the bookies are wary of the Spaniard and continue to have him as a close 3rd favourite to take the US Open.
The US Open Women’s betting is always dominated by the Williams sisters and the 2009 US Open is no different with Serena the hot favourite to add another Grand Slam to her already impressive list of achievements. Serena is by far the world’s best player on current form which she showed at Wimbledon with an impressive victory over her sister Venus who is always dangerous on grass. Serena is the defending Champion at Flushing Meadows having beaten Jelena Jankovic in the 2008 Final and the bookies feel that only sister Venus can stop her. Venus has been in solid form in 2009 with that Wimbledon Final being the highlight and she is more than capable of beating anyone but she does not look quite on top form at the moment and will need to improve. There are two interesting ladies appearing near the top of the US Open Odds and they are Maria Sharapova and Kim Clijsters who are both former winners of this event. Sharapova has been improving with every match since returning from a long term injury, Clijsters has just come out of retirement and has looked hugely impressive so far and will be a dangerous unseeded player.
The UK Bookmakers are offering new customers a free bet for first time users for the US Open.
