In relation to the Office of Fair Trading launching an investigation into unscrupulous High Street deals, Chris Brown, the co-founder of the UK's fastest growing independent online travel agent, had the following to say:

"We have been campaigning for a long time for online holiday companies to stop using deceptive tactics. It is common for costs to be added as the consumer continues through the buying process and therefore people end up paying considerably more than the original price that attracted them."

He continues: "Several of the big name high street and online holiday companies are guilty of this and we hope that the OFT makes an example of them as a result of their investigations. I would like to express that both I and fully agree with the investigation."
