Take a cycle class, add a giant video screen and imagine being transported from your static bike into an on-screen adrenaline fuelled ride with your fellow participants. This totally new, ground breaking class is called VRX-Biking and its cutting edge technology is set to change expectations of group exercisers forever.

If you enjoy cycling you’ll be hooked on VRX-Biking classes from UK bike manufacturer Trixter. Participants see themselves on the big screen as they ride through different trails from the streets of London and New York, to dirt tracks and highlands. Riders become so immersed in the experience that they don’t identify with the hard work they are doing.

‘Visual stimulation is proven to increase motivation’ says fitness expert Kristoph Thompson. ‘Group cycle classes require participants to imagine their trail as they move up and downhill with different resistance. The VRX-Biking classes allow the class to engage in a much more exciting experience and work together to steer through the tracks.’ The addition of all the motivational music is provided by Sony BMG artists such as Calvin Harris, The Ting Tings, Apollo 440. Each track is the cue to enter a new virtual world for the duration of that song.

Unlike standard indoor bikes that only engage the lower body, Trixter X-bikes use patented laterally moving handle bars which increase the calorie burn of the ride by up to 55%. By involving the upper body they also provide a workout for the core. X-bikes are the only indoor cycles to accurately simulate the action of riding outdoors by providing a realistic outdoor bike movement and a full body workout.

X-bikes, popular with celebrity trainers such as Elise Lindsay, The Body Doctor David Marshall and Gunnar Peterson, have a strong celebrity following. Eva Mendez, Colin Farrell, Mark Walberg, the London Irish Rugby team and even the X Factor contestants are amongst the growing fans of these innovative bikes.

The VRX-Biking classes are not exclusive to world of celebrities and elite athletes. Keep your eyes peeled for classes in David Lloyd Clubs, Virgin Active and even local authority chain Everyone Active. ‘The VRX-Biking classes make complete sense,’ says Duncan Jefford, Regional Director of Everyone Active. ‘Our members love group cycle classes but we wanted to offer them something more challenging and exciting and the Trixter X-bikes do just that.’ Not only are our members burning 55% more calories by engaging in a full body workout, they don’t even realise they are working that hard as they are so engrossed in the video they are cycling through.’

Lack of enjoyment is one of the main reasons we give up on exercise. Now, VRX-Biking provides a genuinely fun way to keep the calories burning all year long.
