Despite the continued disruption to flights across UK airspace, Thomson Holiday staff have been working through the night to ensure customers start returning home this morning.

Restrictions on UK airspace are still in place and expected to remain until at least 1900 on Friday evening. However the travel company has several in-bound flights returning to the UK this morning, the first of which is en-route from the Dominican Republic and due to arrive into Glasgow Airport shortly after 10am.

Christian Cull, Communications Director at TUI commented “Thomson appreciate the importance of our customers’ holidays and the impact that the closure of UK airspace has had on their plans. Since yesterday morning, staff in the UK and overseas have been working round the clock to ensure that our customers are inconvenienced as little as possible. In the UK we despatched special assistance teams to the airports to ensure our customers were kept up to date with the latest information. Our overseas teams have also been working hard to look after those customers who were due to return home.”

Customers who are due to travel are advised to visit, where the latest flight information will be posted.

Amendment policy:

We'd like to reassure our customers that we've been working continually behind the scenes to publish revised flight details as soon as they are available. Although we're making every effort to operate flights at the earliest opportunity, we understand that some of our customers may wish to revise their travel plans and so we've established the following policy:

Customers who wish to amend their holiday (departures originally scheduled up to 2359 on 16 April) are able to amend to an alternative travel date without incurring normal administration fees. Any difference in price would be payable, although if the alternative holiday is cheaper than the original, then the difference in price will be refunded. Holidays booked via our website can be amended by calling our dedicated team on 0800 009 3833 (open from 0700 Friday morning). Those customers that booked via a travel agency or a call centre should contact their booking agent.
