A brand new TEFL course add-on gives those who can’t attend a classroom TEFL course a fantastic insight into life in the TEFL classroom.

i-to-i’s new, interactive TEFL module gives budding TEFL teachers the chance to get to grips with the practical side of teaching English abroad, all from behind a computer screen.

On the 20-hour video practice module, tutees watch videos of real-life classroom situations, before using their TEFL know-how to suggest improvements and how the lesson might be adjusted to different students and situations. By the end of the course they should be able to adjust their presentation style to different ability levels, dream up activities that are appropriate for their students and adapt lessons to different levels; not to mention use teaching resources effectively and spot potential problems in classes and quickly come up with solutions.

i-to-i’s Online Director of Studies, Alex Semakin, said: “If you’re new to TEFL, or even if you’ve taught before, the video practice module will help you learn how to adapt your teaching style to a whole range of situations – so you can be prepared for whatever your students throw at you!”

For those with no experience of teaching abroad, the new module gives an extra, confidence-building boost to i-to-i’s internationally recognised TEFL courses, giving those without the time or money to attend a classroom TEFL course the opportunity to gain high-quality TEFL certification, with up to 120 hours of online TEFL study. As with all i-to-i TEFL courses, expert TEFL tutors are on hand throughout to give feedback on tutees’ ideas, helping them to build confidence and prepare themselves for life in the classroom.

The module isn’t just for TEFL newcomers either: experienced teachers will also benefit from learning how to mould their lessons to different ability levels and age groups, in order to get the best results possible.

While great for building tutees’ confidence, completion of the video practice module and practical knowledge of what goes on in the TEFL classroom is very useful for impressing employers, who increasingly want teachers with more than just theoretical TEFL knowledge.

The video practice module is included in i-to-i’s 140 hour or 120 hour TEFL courses, can be included as an add-on to any other TEFL course, or taken as a stand-alone course.
