A fascinating new exhibition entitled the MACBA Collection (XXII) is going on show at the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona soon, featuring work by many top Spanish and American artists.

The organisers describe how the first thing that people will see at this event is information about the Contemporary American Paintings exhibit that was shown at the Palau de la Virreina in 1995.

It featured many iconic artists such as Franz Kline, Clifford Still and Robert Motherwell - creators who worked with abstract ideas - alongside Hispanic counterparts including Jorge Oteiza and Eduardo Chillida.

Guests at Barcelona hotels can revisit the stars of this exhibition, which also includes projects by figures from the Pop Art movement, between May 15th and June 1st.

Some of the other art on display includes work by Lothar Baumgarten, Richard Hamilton, Jean-Marc Bustamente and Manolo Laguillo.

Opening hours for this show are from 11:00 to 19:30 (local time) on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, while the art space opens at 10:00 at the weekend - closing at 20:00 on Saturday and 15:00 on Sunday.

Tickets to see the exhibit are €12 and visitors should be aware that the museum is closed on Tuesdays.

While in the venue, people should be sure to check out Armando Andrade Tudela's Ahir, Dema - two films framed by architecture designed by the artist.

To make the most of the MACBA Collection (XXII) – you should consider booking your hoteles Barcelona to avoid disappointment.
