Global brands Ericsson, Microsoft, Allianz and Electronic Arts are turning to Opsview

Reading, UK — 29th April 2010 — Opsview, the global leader in open source systems and application monitoring software, today announced the availability of its latest Opsview Community edition. This 3.7.0 version of Opsview Community showcases many of the scalability, maintainability and operational intelligence improvements that will feature in the forthcoming Opsview Enterprise edition later this summer.

Opsview Community 3.7.0 is specifically targeted at larger, more complex IT environments and delivers the following enhancements:

• New approach to user management and contact profiles greatly simplifies user management
• Redesigned notification management provides more visibility of critical issues
• Simplified alerting mechanism for keywords reduces the quantity of alerts and increases visibility of service affecting issues
• New re-notification logic for passive service checks prevents unnecessary alerts
• Execution dependency on service checks prevents unnecessary checks from being run reducing load on the monitoring system and network
• Spanish language support

The announcement is timed to coincide with the release of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, a popular Linux distribution that is fully supported by Opsview Community 3.7.0.
