29th April 2010, AppWorld Showcase, WES 2010 – Sccope is announcing the beta version of its Sccope2Save app for BlackBerry® smartphones at WES 2010. The highly successful price comparison, and barcode scanning app delivers a “seamless, integrated, contextualised and efficient user experience” specific to BlackBerrysmartphone users’ needs and expectations.

Sccope 2Save makes it easy for consumers to identify the best possible deals through an unrivalled combination of prices from top retailers; barcode scanning allow the user to check the best price available; comprehensive product search, and stock availability and price drop alerts. Sccope updates its prices daily from an independent database provided by sister company NetPrice.

The barcode scanner app works with BlackBerry smartphones that have a camera to allow shoppers to scan a barcode on a package and check the price against Sccope’s 500,000 separate product numbers and 6 million different price points. If no barcode is available shoppers can search by typing in the product name to get price comparisons.

Customers can also check stock levels with different retailers, and set an alert to inform them when a product is back in stock with a favourite retailer. The Scoope app can push live retailer vouchers and special offers to a BlackBerry smartphone user so they can take advantage of great deals.
