PRESS INVITATION
6th October 1997

REGISTER NOW FOR ELECTRONIC COMMERCE 97
- UK's only conference and exhibition dedicated to addressing business solutions for the electronic age

A target of a quarter of all dealings with government to be done electronically by 2002, was set by Prime Minister, Mr
Tony Blair last week. In addition, electronic commerce is the subject of a late night debate in the House of Lords on
22nd October - but why all the interest in electronic commerce? Why is it a 'mission critical' item on boardroom agendas?
Are payments over the Internet really secure? Is electronic commerce the province of large corporations or is there room
for the small and medium sized companies? Does electronic commerce mean goodbye to EDI? Are Intranets and Extranets just
the latest fad? ....

With so many questions and so many technologies encompassed by electronic commerce - EDI, Email, the Internet and World
Wide Web, Intranets and Extranets, Messaging, Multimedia etc. - where can you get the answers and user stories quickly
and easily? The answer to all these questions, and more, will be found at Electronic Commerce 97. In addition, early
Thursday morning (23rd), leading experts will also be on hand to comment and answer questions on the previous evening's
debate in the House of Lords.

Electronic Commerce 97 will provide the answers and tangible evidence of business benefits in a series of nine seminars
tackling topics such as security, payments and on-line banking, extending supply chain integration, global logistics,
legal issues, new initiatives and exploiting the Internet, intranet and extranet technologies. The exhibition, running
alongside the seminar programme, will be the launch pad for dozens of new products and services. It will highlight the
electronic commerce solutions on offer from around 70 companies and boasts a Presentation Theatre for exhibitor
presentations and an Advice Centre operated by the sponsoring industry associations.*
