Anyone who is staying in hotels in Kuta during June should consider taking a day trip to Jimbaran Bay to see an art exhibition currently on display there.

With a little under four weeks until the Post Modern Ramblings installation leaves the island, those seeking some culture during a sun-soaked visit to Bali should ensure they visit the Jimbaran Ganesha Gallery.

According to BaliCalendar.com, the paintings by two Balinese artists show "individual explorations of alienation, angst and the meaning of life in Bali in the 21st century".

Ketut Teja Astawa is one of the artists whose work is on display. The website explains that his pieces are influenced by the original Kamasan style, which was itself inspired by shadow puppets.

Meanwhile, the other painter whose art is on show is Em Sumba. His canvases are "free of traditional influence" and are instead described as "edgy and enigmatic" by the website.

Although both very different, BaliCalendar.com argues that their paintings are representative of the diversity displayed in the Balinese art scene.

The journey from Kuta to Jimbaran Bay takes approximately half an hour, making it an ideal location to visit as a daytrip during a stay on the island and with the exhibition opening at 09:00 (local time) each day, there will still be plenty of time to hit the beach.
