CAPITAL BANK plc, a subsidiary of Bank of Scotland, has
selected the SAPIENS Y2K solution to make its core mortgage
system year 2000 compliant. The project will be jointly
developed in London and at Sapiens' Year 2000 Software
Factory in Israel.

"We have been successfully working with Sapiens since 1992
and it seemed like a natural progression of the relationship
for our year 2000 compliance to be implemented using the
SAPIENS Y2K solution," said the year 2000 programme manager,
CAPITAL BANK. "Year 2000 compliance is increasingly
important to CAPITAL BANK as a business. We have almost 500
joint ventures with a wide range of financial services
companies , many of who are already focusing on the issue
and recognise the risks of non-compliance to the whole
supply chain."

The project is expected to take eight months to complete,
and will involve converting 350 programs across the Mortgage
Application Processing System (MAPS) and Mortgage Account
Borrowing System (MABS) which is currently operated by 100
users. The implementation of the year 2000 project will be
vital in securing the integrity of 12,000 active customer
accounts.

"From as early as 1993, CAPITAL BANK realised that year 2000
compliance would be one of the key factors for the long term
success of the organisation, and perceived Sapiens as the
vendor of choice for a comprehensive solution," Danny Stern,
senior director, Y2K projects, Sapiens International added.
"The CAPITAL BANK Y2K project reinforces Sapiens' position
as a leading supplier of end to end year 2000 solutions."
