• Rhossili topped a poll of 24 shortlisted beaches from eight regions throughout the UK and Northern Ireland, in the Cadbury Flake 99 Great British Beach Awards.
It took 47% of the vote in a survey, emerging as the clear winner ahead of Tresco in the Isles of Scilly (19%) and Blackpool and Margate (10%).
This was a public vote (online) with over 7,700 people voting.

• Voted best picnic spot in a poll by the British Guild of Travel Writers. Prestigious award by travel experts who have experienced the best in UK travel.
