Music fans visiting Berlin hotels next month may be planning to see Queens of the Stone Age at the Zitadelle Spandau.

John Homme's Californian rockers are due to perform in the German capital on August 24th, giving their Berlin fans are chance to hear modern classics such as No One Knows and The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret.

Formed following the break-up of Homme's previous band Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age have built up a large army of fans on both sides of the Atlantic with their distinctive heavy rock.

As well as his songwriting, the singer and guitarist is in demand as a producer nowadays, having worked behind the scenes on the Arctic Monkeys' third album Humbug in 2009.

Last month, it was announced that Queens of the Stone Age's acclaimed album from 2000, Rated R, will be re-released with a special edition to mark its tenth anniversary.

Described by an NME reviewer as "the best, most important rock album for years" at the time, the record will be available to fans in an expanded two-CD edition from August 3rd.

Tickets for the Berlin gig, which is due to begin at 19:00, are available online from €39.90 (£33.40).
