Alternative rock veterans Eels are set to thrill their German fans with a gig in Munich later this year.

The US band's performance in the Bavarian capital on Saturday September 11th was recently moved to a larger venue due to the overwhelming demand for tickets, which demonstrates how popular the group are in that part of the world.

Eels had been scheduled to play at Munich's Theaterfabrik, but will now perform across town at the Tonhalle, with more tickets being made available.

The gig is one of two German dates scheduled as part of the band's world tour, which begins on August 3rd and will also see them play gigs in Japan, Australia and across North America.

Fans booking Munich hotels for the concert can expect to hear songs from the forthcoming new album Tomorrow Morning, which is due for release on August 24th.

The record is Eels' ninth studio effort and the final release in a trilogy of albums that also includes 2009's Hombre Lobo and End Times, which appeared in January this year.

Based around lead singer and songwriter Mark Oliver Everett - usually known as 'E' - Eels rose to fame with their debut album Beautiful Freak, which featured the singles Novocaine for the Soul and Susan's House.

Tickets for the band's Munich concert are now available to buy online, priced at €26.40 (£22). Doors will open from 19:30 local time and the music is set to begin from 20:30.

Eels will be supported in Munich by British singer Alice Gold, who is also set to perform at this September's End of the Road Festival in the UK.
