School trips specialist Activ4 has added a new destination to its portfolio – Athens. To help promote this new and exciting destination, Activ4 are organising a special familiarisation visit aimed at teachers during the 2010 October half term holiday.

Study and sports tours provider Activ4 are adding Athens as a new destination for 2011. One of the key reasons why Athens is such a good fit with Activ4’s offering is due to its multipurpose suitability. It is a great location and suits the majority of trips Activ4 organise, from sports tours and performing arts trips to educational travel.

From January 2011 school trips organised by Activ4 will include the Greek capital Athens along with its famous and fashionable coastal region of Glyfada, often referred to as the “Greek Riviera”.

Steve Scott, Managing Director of Activ4 commented “We constantly evaluate where we can improve our overall offering and the itineraries we create for our clients. Sourcing the right partners overseas to allow us to add to our destination portfolio is always an exciting step for the company to take, and we are really confident Athens will be a valuable addition. To help promote this new destination to schools and colleges throughout the UK, we need to educate our clients regarding its suitability as a fantastic location for out of classroom education. This is why we have organised a familiarisation trip in October, as it gives teachers the ideal opportunity to sample what Athens and Greece has to offer first hand”.

The Athens familiarisation trip guided by an Activ4 tour manager, is a fully inclusive tour and includes return flights from London, 2 night’s hotel accommodation in Glyfada on half board basis. Transportation to and from the airport, a full day tour of Athens, plus entrance to and a licensed guide for the Acropolis and Museum visit. In addition there will be visits to the performing arts facilities and locations and the sports tours facilities and Stadia.

The price to take part in this specially organised familiarisation visit is £325 per person and this fee includes all taxes and services. However, should any attendees book a tour through Activ4 as a result of the trip then such participants will be refunded the £325 in full.

Some of Activ4’s most popular trips are football tours in Spain and school ski trips in North America.
