London, UK, 2 August 2010 – Cloud computing specialist Carrenza today announced plans to target customers with enterprise IT ‘over-the-cloud’ solutions. Carrenza’s services are divided into Infrastructure (IaaS) and Platform (PaaS) offerings and designed to replicate in the Cloud exactly the operating environments businesses have been used to in traditional managed hosting facilities. The award winning cloud computing expert has also added enterprise IT consultancy services to its portfolio designed to better support businesses looking to move data into the cloud. The refocused suite of Carrenza Iaas and Paas solutions will help enterprises provide the foundations for their cloud whether they are starting small and scaling to meet demand or outsourcing their entire enterprise environment.

Cloud Servers for Enterprise are the building blocks of Carrenza’s cloud computing offering. Carrenza’s Cloud Servers allow businesses to replace their legacy physical servers with a dedicated pool of virtual machines, enabling them to take advantage of server resources and infrastructure all managed by Carrenza, without having to invest in storage space and the servers themselves.

Carrenza also now provides consultancy services including strategic technical planning for clients in media, retail and corporate sectors. Its skilled technical teams can research, define, design, build and deliver strong, reliable technical platforms guaranteed by bespoke service level agreements to provide the performance each client needs.

Nick Barron, Sales and Marketing Director, Carrenza, comments: “Enterprises are now starting to adopt Cloud Computing services. In fact, a recent report from Gartner predicted cloud computing services would double in revenues by 2014 to $148.8 billion (£98.5 billion) as the cloud ‘resonates with business’. With so much interest from businesses, we’ve spent a lot of time working with customers to ensure that our cloud computing solutions best fit their needs. For example, we know that security can be a concern for those moving data into the cloud and some providers have a ‘do-it-yourself’ approach to security which could potentially leave organisations open to risk. At Carrenza, we have taken a different tact. Instead, we’re working with customers to ensure that their existing security policies and procedures are robust enough to be moved into the cloud environment.

“Too many cloud computing providers insist that it’s their way or the highway when it comes to security. We think customers should have the final say when it comes to the security of their critical data. In fact, we tell clients that they should put what they can on the cloud and use their own servers for important data. Not all cloud computing providers will allow you to do that.”

“Paying for your core infrastructure on a Credit Card is not necessarily the best solution for Enterprises, yet is widespread amongst our competition. We offer a choice of invoicing options, including the traditional 30 days bill, and have a delivery model based on stringent service level agreements,” said Barron. “This means that we are more able to deal with the corporate supply contracts demanded by big businesses. Some providers insist that you need to use a credit card to buy cloud services, but this is not a suitable mechanism for large enterprises. At Carrenza we’re doing things differently so that customers can get the benefits of truly flexible and scalable cloud computing solutions.”
