500,000 hours without a reportable injury

5 August 2010 - Environmental Scientifics Group (ESG), the UK’s leading environmental compliance company is pleased to announce that it has been recognised by Skanska for its contribution towards achieving 500,000 hours without a reportable injury1 on the Weymouth Relief Road project2.

At a ceremony on 21 June, Darren Throrowgood, Operations Manager, collected the Group certificate on behalf of ESG, in recognition of its part in this successful record of accident prevention.

1. A reportable injury is defined as a work-related accident resulting in a “major injury” (where the individual is taken to hospital) or a “reportable injury” (where the individual is unable to do all or part of their duties for at least three days as a result of the accident).

2. The Weymouth Relief Road project is designed to ease congestion and will facilitate access to the Olympic sailing events on the South Coast in 2012
