A ‘Pause for Kindness’ takes place at 13.00 on November 13th to inaugurate Kindness Day UK.

London, UK 1st November 2010 - Secret Millionaire David Jamilly and activist Louise Burfitt-Dons are launching Kindness Day UK in a bid to make acts of kindness a greater part of everyday life in the UK. From this year on, 13th November 2010 will be an annual day of kindness.

“Kindness has been lagging or too silent in the UK” says humanitarian and co-founder David Jamilly, “this year the Singapore Kindness Movement is giving away thousands and thousands of daisies and flower balloons to signify World Kindness Day”.

“We need to start somewhere, and we need to start now” says activist, humanitarian and co-founder Louise Burfitt-Dons, “our intention is that the UK sets the standard for kindness around the world”.

There is a big need for values in today’s fast changing world, and kindness incorporates social change, philanthropy, charity, giving, empathy and love. Jilly Cooper OBE quoted “I think we ought to have a kindness year, or a kindness century”.

Kindness Day UK is a non-monetary, humanitarian organisation with the sole purpose of making kindness a greater part of everyone’s daily life. David and Louise are lobbying the United Nations to recognise World Kindness Day as an official national day and lend its weight to a day of celebrating kindness and good deeds.
