One of the largest water treatment companies in the UK has been shortlisted for two prestigious business awards – International trader of the Year and Business of the Year.
B & V Water Treatment is in the finals of the Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards which recognise top performance among hundreds of companies across the East Midlands county.
If it wins next month it will be the second year running that B & V has won the international category.
The awards, sponsored by the Royal Mail and HSBC, among others, and organised in association with Northants Chamber, and are in their twentieth year.
B & V Water Treatment’s expertise in legionella control, water sampling and all aspects of water and waste water treatment is well regarded across the world.
Key factors behind the success of the multi-million pound turnover company are its extensive research and development capability and the high level of technical support it offers worldwide.
Its own label division alone has seen a 30% increase in turnover in the past year and one Ukrainian client has seen its own business expand by 400% over two years as a result of B & Vs technical expertise and support.
Customers range across the NHS, hotel, leisure, FM, petrochemical, food and drink industries as well as commercial and industrial sectors with a number of blue chip international customers.
Over the past two years B & V has seen massive growth in its international business.
Its global success has prompted the recent appointment of a new overseas development manager who aims to expand its European, African and Middle Eastern markets. Microbiologist Richard Sinden has spent 20 years in the water treatment industry working with major global players such as Unilever and Proctor and Gamble.
B & V Water Treatment MD Simon Ward explained: “Our technical and engineering capabilities are, frankly, incredible. With four PhDs on our R and D team and a very large number of microbiologists we provide far more than many other companies in the industry. As well as enabling customers to comply with environmental and health legislation, such as the legionella code of practice L8, we can also drastically reduce operating costs, sometimes by hundreds of thousands of pounds a year.”
