"For each customer it may mean donating just a few pence, but with our donations it can make a real difference."
For the next 12 months every customer buying maps and guides from the Mapsworldwide online map shop will be asked to say “Keep the Change” in aid of Shelterbox, the UK based charity that brings shelter warmth and dignity to disaster victims worldwide.
The campaign asks customers to donate to Shelterbox by rounding up their map purchase to the nearest whole UK pound. Mapsworldwide will then double its customers’ donations.
"We are already seeing around 30% of customers contributing" says Chris Warham, Mapsworldwide managing director. "For each customer it may mean donating just a few pence, but with our donations it can make a real difference."
Mapsworldwide sells maps and travel guides to more than 200 countries from its base in Wiltshire, UK.
"Shelterbox has worked in Haiti, Guatemala, Indonesia, Benin, Pakistan and Mexico amongst other countries during 2010. We send maps of these countries to customers all over the world so supporting Shelterbox seemed a great idea." said Mr Warham. "Customers from all over the world are contributing”, he added. “It's not just the UK."
Mapsworldwide Ltd. was founded ten years ago and now supplies maps and guides to customers across the world from its HQ in Melksham, UK.
It is an internet only maps retailer and stocks more than 30,000 often hard to find maps and travel guides.
