Denise is a great role model for women like me who enjoy dating younger men
A poll of 5,000 Brits has revealed that star of stage and screen, Denise Van Outen, is the nation’s favourite cougar.
Scooping 25% of the total votes cast, Denise saw off competition from other glamorous cougars including Emma Bunton, Barbara Windsor and Joan Collins. She proved popular with both genders - one in five women and almost a third of men choosing her as their favourite.
Darryn Clarke from ToyBoy.com, the dating site that conducted the poll this month, said, “The results prove what we already knew: Denise is the perfect, positive embodiment of today’s British cougar. She effortlessly demonstrates that women can have long-lasting, meaningful relationships with men younger than themselves and that toyboy-dating needn’t be seen as just a short-term thing.”
Jen, a 42-year-old cougar from the Midlands echoes this, “Denise is a great role model for women like me who enjoy dating younger men. Often my friends will mock me for my tastes in younger guys, but I’m confident the man I’ll spend the rest of my life with will be younger than myself.”
The top five Celebrity Cougars of 2010 revealed by the ToyBoy.com poll are:
1. Denise Van Outen – 25%
2. Emma Bunton – 16%
3. Emma Thompson – 11%
4. Barbara Windsor – 9%
5. Joan Collins – 7%
The least popular Celebrity Cougar of 2010 was Jackiey Budden.
