Specialist school trips tour operator Activ4 launches a new tour to South Iceland designed specifically for Volcano and Green Energy Studies.

Activ4, a specialist in educational travel has now started promoting its new Volcano Study and Green Energy Tour to schools throughout the UK, with tours starting in the spring of 2011.

Volcanoes have been an integral part of Icelanders’ way of life since the time of settlement in the late 9th Century. The tour includes an exciting expedition to the world famous Eyjafjallajökull volcano. In addition, this study tour allows students to learn first hand why Iceland is one of the world’s leaders in green energy and sustainable development. All the tours are arranged with local guides, who are on hand to provide scientific expertise and thorough local knowledge. In addition, evening lectures can also be arranged with volcanologists and green energy experts allowing students to learn all they need to know about volcanoes and geothermal energy.

Steve Scott, Managing Director of Activ4 commented, “Iceland is a fantastic destination that offers schools and its students the opportunity to visit and enjoy a country that has an abundance of glaciers, volcanoes, lava beds, mountains and hundreds of waterfalls. We know any school trip we organise and send to Iceland will be an inspirational and unforgettable experience for those students taking part. Although this latest tour is targeted to a very specific audience, it is a tour that is packed with exciting things to see and do, and much for students to learn about volcanoes and green energy. There’s no other destination that will make the learning experience more exciting”.

Activ4’s Volcano and Green Energy Study tours are typically 5 days in duration.
