We’re one of the area’s best kept secrets for parents looking for quality pre school education in a rural location near Uckfield

Blackboys Pre-School has a new website at, which it believes better reflects its not for profit objectives than the previous '' address.

The pre-school, which boasts a 'Good' Ofsted rating, was set up nearly thirty years ago in 1984. It is one of just a handful of pre-schools in the area whose objective is entirely focused on providing quality education for two to five year olds in East Sussex and not about bottom line profits. This makes Blackboys Pre-School a great choice for childcare and pre school education, preparing children for Uckfield schools and those in Heathfield and surrounding villages.

The website includes a new list of events for 2011 – from social get-togethers to important fundraising activities – all with the objective of deepening involvement of the pre-school into the local community.

Jenny Novkovic, pre school manager, said: “We felt the new website made it easier for site visitors to recognise that the pre-school is all about providing a superb environment for our children. We have some really exciting things happening in 2011 and now have a great platform to spread the word.”

This month (January) Blackboys Pre-School kicks off a collaboration with the Mohair Centre in Chiddingly to offer children an opportunity to experience a working farm and try their hands at textile making.

Mikyla Elsey, chairman of the parent-led pre school committee adds: “Changing the website address is just the start. We’re one of the area’s best kept secrets for parents looking for quality pre school education in a rural location near Uckfield. We are incredibly proud of what we have to offer. The website revamp is one small step to spreading the word and engaging even better with the community.”
