Two proponents of “ticky tacky football” will go head to head in the Champions League tonight but Arsenal could lose out to Barcelona at the Emirates tonight, with going 7/2 that Arsenal will have more than 45% possession in the match.

Both Arsenal and Barcelona are big fans of “ticky tacky football”, a term coined to describe Spain’s style of play during their World Cup success last summer, but The Gunners are expected to lose the possession battle tonight, with an odds-on price of 2/5 that Arsenal will have less than 45% possession.

The price is backed by some staggering statistics from the Catalan giants this season, who enjoyed a staggering 63% of the ball in their 5-0 victory over Real Madrid in November. Last week against Sporting Gijon, Pep Guardiola’s side bossed the game with 82% possession.

Attention will also be on Cesc Fabregas tonight, as speculation continues to link him with a move to the Nou Camp in the summer, ad goes 7/2 for the Arsenal skipper to score at any time.

The Spanish midfielder is 100/1 to score a hat-trick, 25/1 to miss a penalty and 33/1 to be sent-off in the match.

“Barcelona are an absolute joy to watch on their day but it could be a frustrating night for the Arsenal fans if Guardiola’s men take control at The Emirates,” said Head of Public Relations, Leon Blanche.

“The Catalan side have taught some very harsh lessons to some very good teams this season and with the likes of Messi, Xavi, Iniesta and Villa all pulling the strings, expect Barcelona to enjoy lots of the ball in this first leg clash.”
