Additive-free indulgent cake maker, Heavenly Cakes has announced they have been given the green light to supply The National Trust with they’re all-butter shortbreads & flapjacks, brownies & chocolate cakes in 2011.

The company, based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire & owned by Maeve & Nigel Green have recently launched a comprehensive range of over 25 gluten & wheat-free cakes, the response for which has been excellent.

Nigel Green said “ The National Trust visited our stand at the Speciality & Fine Food trade fair at Olympia in September last year, liked our cakes, particularly our new gluten-free range and the fact we don’t use any additives at all. We are delighted to be able to supply our hand-made cakes to their sites around the UK.

Mr Green added that he believed Heavenly Cakes’ ethos on hand-made ‘clean’ cakes using as many local & UK sourced ingredients as possible reflects the National Trust’s own stance on food quality & sourcing, “We hope the National Trust’s members & visitors approve the addition of our brand in the many historic locations available to visit. We are always open to feedback & comment on what we make & do”
