Veracode Reveals Top Ten Risks to Mobile Security at Infosecurity Europe 2011

Veracode Chief Technology Officer, Chris Wysopal, to share best practices around application security

London, U.K, – 5 April, 2010 – Veracode, Inc., provider of the world’s leading cloud-based application risk management services platform, today announced details of its participation at Infosecurity Europe, 2011, held at Earl’s Court, London, U.K, from Tuesday 19th April until Thursday 21st April.

Veracode will exhibit at Stand B90 and will demonstrate the Veracode Platform, a cloud-based solution providing application intelligence and security verification services.

On Tuesday, 19th April, at 2.15pm, Jason Steer, Senior Solutions Architect, will highlight the challenges companies face with malicious code and backdoors in third party software in the Technical Showcase Theatre. Backdoors and malicious code embedded in legitimate applications pose a serious threat to business because they bypass detection by traditional security testing technologies providing a malicious attacker with a stealth entry point into your software infrastructure.

And on Wednesday, 20 April, at 1.20pm, in the Business Theatre, Chris Wysopal, CTO, will be formally presenting on ‘The Top Ten Risks to Mobile Security and What Users Can Do To Avoid Them’. Veracode is establishing with this risk register an industry-wide security standard enabling organisations to implement application security policies across their mobile application environment. The goal of the list is to serve as a checklist of vulnerabilities that developers and security teams can collectively utilise to determine what mobile app risks exist and how they can be mitigated.

As a member of the Cloud Security Alliance, Veracode is sponsoring the Cloud Security Summit, hosted at Infosecurity Europe on Thursday 21st April and will be participating in the panel session on risk management lessons learned from the delivery of Cloud Services.

Also in attendance at Infosecurity Europe 2011 will be Matt Peachey, VP, EMEA. He said, “Veracode has secured a number of high profile customers and significant partnerships in Europe, testifying to the impact of our unique cloud-based approach to application risk management. We see presence at Infosecurity Europe as a significant part of growing our business and raising our awareness.”
